Now that we're at the topic of market cap... what exactly is it? As far as I understand, it's circulating supply * price. But how exactly does CMC know what is circulating? Like if I buy a shitcoin and hold it in my wallet, when does it stop being "circulating"?

Also, is there a way to approximate how many actual USD went into the market? Becuse the current price isn't necessarily the same amount every holder invested in their shitcoins.
