I want to dev a game, a deep game where people can spend their lives in, quintessential escapism. But there is no point. Games like this and Minecraft already exist. No matter what you do, any building game/survival game you make will not be as good as Minecraft. So why bother? Minecraft is simply too simple. You don't need to worry about body temperature etc. I've come to understand the key is simplicity for noobs but depth for masters to no life your game. Even something like Rise of Nations does this in even something like its obscene number of hotkeys.. The problem is unless you copy Minecraft you're stuck with something like The Forest.. which let's face it isn't as good as Minecraft. Or worse, 7 days to die. This simple train of thought has demotivated me and I haven't worked on a game in years
