Everyone was talking about a rally because we are post inflation, then a downturn I'm September/October.

When everyone starts planning for something in the market, it is almost guaranteed to not happen.

I still believe the basic premise that peak inflation is behind us, but what's happening now is people are positioning for the predicted downturn, in effect shifting the downturn forward by a month.

We will go down but then the rally will continue starting late August/early September assuming nothing bad happens.

Just by knowing the basics of how bonds work, and knowing the basics of swap fixed leg pricing, I would say a solid 80k in 3 years tops. The degree helps, especially in law, because you can get an easy financial compliance gig instead of a junior position and then talk up how youve always loved the analyst side of things and leverage that into an analyst position.
And if you’re secure enough in your knowledge, you can probably skip the junior/compliance position. I recommend it so your resume history doesn’t look so jarring, but it’s probably not needed if you understand the concepts well.
People just don’t understand fixed income, I guarantee if you learn what ISDA brokers do and learn how fixed income legs on swaps work, SOFR+bps, you could talk your way into my job. Thanks for the insight anon. My job presently is very easy and stress free, but I feel like I'm wasting my life (because I am) every day. I never achieve anything and every day is the same. Only doing it for the money at the moment. Unironically have thought about taking a job as a park ranger or gardener or something - problem with current job is its the path of least resistance, its easy and pays well and comfy (I do it from home), but I do not develop as a person. Not necessarily imho. 1000 dollar siga is ~72 billion dollar market cap. Imho unlikely yes, but not absurd.
