One thing that remains very interesting about this market in the last few weeks is how widely disconnected the market participants are.

On one hand you have large hedge fund managers with twitter accounts, buy side bear reports, research reports, sell side reports etc all with an ultra bearish tone with a lot of conviction.

On the other hand you have price action and positioning leaned with a bullish tone. Risk assets are in go mode and the reach for hedges remain relatively muted.

This tug and pull is what generally leads to tail events on both sides of the spectrum (not just crashes).

This isn’t a bullish or a bearish call. Simply an observation between the disconnect of sentiment and price action/ positioning in the equity market.

SIGA was not primarily owned by institutional investors. That portion of ownership is growing RAPIDLY.

They do this shit every fucking morning. They dump the stock to try to trigger your stop-losses. Then, on every pullback, they shake you and shake you like a fucking kid getting beat up for lunch money so they can take more and more shares from retail. They can do this because SIGA is still under $2b marketcap, and a lot of the retail holding right now doesn't fully understand what it is they own, so a 10% scares them away.

Institutions then buy in at EOD or before news hits and the paperhanded fools here end up feeling like idiots.

Based on the numbers we're seeing my home state of CA, approximately 15% of mpx cases require hospitalization. Approximately 10% receive TPOXX currently simply because it's such a bitch to get.

If we maintain that hospitalization rate with an FDA approval and/or EUA, I would expect the rate of TPOXX administration to rise from 10% and close in on that ~15% in adults. In addition, symptoms in children under 8 are significantly more severe; thus, if we see an outbreak in shcools/childcare, we can expect both TPOXX administration and hospitalizations to rise. Both factors will be compounded by the rate of increase in spread (that's assuming the rate of infection hasn't leveled off, which it may have in certain areas).

Mind you, this is just in the US.

I don't think this is gonna pull a MRNA like some people are thinking, but it has significant room to run once a couple of catalysts hit.
