There's a lot of people who are definitely going to lose everything. When a short squeeze runs up, everyone who buys at the top will never see a profit on their investment since it will subsequently crash.
Same thing happened with GME, a lot of people made gainz, but a shitload also bought at the top and are still hoping for another squeeze.

I still made $20k on GME, basically within the two days that it was running up.
So far with BBBY I think I've made about $10k in gainz, and I might load up more tomorrow and exit intra-day. Holding overnight is very risky (and potentially rewarding, but I have no interest in losing after hours).

Another reminder I forgot to add: in instances like this, we're not betting on the stock, we're betting against Short Hedge Funds who need to cover their ass MORE as the price of a shorted stock goes higher.
So as long as people understand that and realize they need to keep an eye on the stock, they should do fine. As soon as shorts are done covering, there's no more money to be made, and the stock will sink back to realistic levels accordingly.
