Not surprising. Wealth grows exponentially. Pool 2 incomes with the same one major cost (rent/mortgage), and then you can put the excess aside to compound via investments. There's an implicit 2x off the bat from comparing 2 people vs 1 person.
A mortgage itself is a big piece of the gap actually, since a married couple can much more easily access a mortgage. Real estate values are up 30-40% in the past 2 years due to hyperinflation. In other cultures, you can more easily buy apartments directly, but here in the US you're stuck as a permanent rentcuck if you live single in the city. Outside the city, you either buy the same big empty house as a married couple, or get ripped off on a condo.
Of course, unmarried couples living together can split costs too despite counting as 2x single households, but there's some selection bias in that successful couples will naturally marry.

Single households catch up a bit once kids come into the picture for those married couples though. Kids are an endless expense.

In the end though, the reality is that both married couples and single men are all typically poor, so this whole comparison is a bit irrelevant. 9 times approximately 0 is still approximately zero.

Yes, obviously. Life is easy when you have a gf you love. Its easy to acquire money because you spend less on going out to parties to try and meet women (or whores in my case) and renting or buying a house will become twice as easy with two incomes.
