they have obscene turn over rate because the jobs are demanding and high stress. Animals are unpredictable, messy, and you get in massive shit, literally or figuratively, if you push back too much, but if you don't push back enough they despite captivity, these are not domesticated animals and can/will still destroy you.

You said comfy, of course, but the point is more that there is no such thing. Working at a zoo is extremely demanding. Love the animals. Love being outdoors. Love being covered in/smelling like shit. And love being pushed around by management, visitors, government, activists, and the animals.

Lies. I've worked at zoo. Virtually 0 turnover rate because everyone with an actual proper job (not cleaning the park and checking tickets) which means taking care of animals did not quit and there were virtually 0 openings for caretaker positions. This is one of the best zoos in Europe though so maybe this has something to do with it.
