I'm guessing you bought everything all at once and happened to buy at a high point (2-3 weeks ago?). You should spread your trades out over time. Is this a simulation or real money? If you're buying and holding, just wait it out and keep investing, even if the stocks keep going down unless you have a reason to believe they're not going to eventually go back up.

did you buy BABA on the IPO date? Damn i feel bad for you.
Also Tesla, wow, what a shit stock. You realize that party is over, right?

You need to value invest. All the names you own are so heavily spoken of in financial media it tells me you don't know how to find stocks on your own.

You should real some Buffet liturature. Also Security Analysis.

AAPL, GOOG, and MSFT aren't bad, just hold out through this current market rout till year end

Using the wallstreetsurvivor simulator. Yeah i bought them over a few days except for the BABA shit. I fucked that one up and didn't sell when it peaked so i am now stuck with it hoping it will go back up. Some say in time it will raise like crazy but i have my doubts.. Everything was green 1-2 weeks ago, should have sold then and bought in another sector probably. I am just gonna hold and wait for it to go back up again and sell I think. Does that sound alright?

>>508596
Its even worse, i bought it at 275.

>You realize that party is over, right?
But self driving electric cars is the future. And what if they get in to drones? It can only go up from here!

>You need to value invest. All the names you own are so heavily spoken of in financial media it tells me you don't know how to find stocks on your own.
You are absolutely right.

Self driving cars are great but that's like ten years from now. Google is probably closer than Tesla is. And what's to stop Ford or GM or Honda from doing self driving cars and luxury electric cars? Nothing.

BABA will go back up though, he has to stick that one out. You have to remember that BABA is used all over the third world for mobile transactions. It's worth it to hold that one. Tesla, that's a stupid fucking stock to even have at any price. Elon Musk, despite that dumb gigafactory, has talked about selling it because of profitability issues.

You consider that the highest selling, American made, automobile is the ford f-150. It sells 850,000 units a year. All of Tesla's vehicles only move 30,000 a year. That's combined sales, so why is Tesla stock priced higher than ford? It just doesn't make any sense.

BABA might rebound but it's so hyped it's basically in the same class as TSLA to me.

Look at AMZN, priced at like 400 times earnings and shit. Barely profitable. BABA is basically the Asian version of AMZN.

When a company is barely profitable and has sky high earnings multiples you're not buying shares in revenue generating business you're buying an idea; which can prove disastrous.

Let me guess...You were one of those guys following all the /r/technology get hype at reddit. Weren't you? I told them to jump off Tesla's dick and look at their earnings reports, but everyone downvoted me. Tesla is pure get hype, you might as well sell because the stock isn't ever going back up.

By the time you read or hear about a stock going up, it's too late, you've missed the gravy train. Watching the market over time and buying at relative lows, even when scalping, is more likely to lead to success.

citigroup was the only stock where you got any value. Everything else especially TSLA and BABA are absolute gambles. AAPL and GOOGL are well established but still overpriced. Tech in general is overpriced and a sellers market. You would have better off betting the farm on citi instead of diversifying into overpriced stocks.

Looks like you got some money and decided to invest in stocks that a noob would think are good. Hyped companies that receive a lot of media attention.

I recommend you find a type of investing strategy that appeals to you, and then find someone who publishes market analysis based on that perspective/strategy

I am into geopolitics and macro-economics so I like to pick securities that rise and fall based on geopolitical and macroecon forces; I use this site: https://www.pardinireports.com/ to get some weekly analysis and picks. It was nice for me as a noob because they basically have a whole portfolio that you can directly just copy and earn a nice rate of return. Now that I'm more experienced I've started branching out and doing my own thing more and more, but that was how I started. It cost $40 a month for access to all the reports and data but it ended up being money well spent.
