Have you seen the DAC members for Nova?

is this a collection of twitter buzzwords, elaborate

>Arbitrum releases ultra low cost, high speed chain for applications with low security requirements like gaming and social media
>reddit is launching their community points on it
>the security trade off is that you have to trust 2 of x members of the DAC (data availability committee)
>Arbitrums DAC includes Google Cloud, FTX, Consensys, and a bunch of others

So when is the eth gas fees gonna be reduced to like 1/200 or whatever the fuck they said?

>> No.50846375

>>50846355
Nova and Nitro are two different things. Nova is this ultra low cost chain with more security assumptions, that is more in competition with Polygon. It just launched.
Nitro is the mainnet upgrade that makes Arbitrum One way cheaper and faster and that's going live on August 31.

>> No.50846437

>>50846355
theres the element of l2s being a reduction but i believe le sharting is when the gas fees go giga dip. the merge is just to make it good for le environment and down to 1/2000th of the energy use so no more enviro fud

>> No.50846462

>>50846375
do any of these have a token i can make money with?

>> No.50846519

>>50846462
After Nitro releases at the end of August, Arbitrum is running something called "The Odyssey" where you move money to Arbitrum and use a couple of different protocols each week. You get an NFT for each week you participate in, but people are speculating that it will be the grounds for eligibility for a future airdrop. There is zero official confirmation of that.

>> No.50846552

>>50846519
I think they'd be retarded to do the airdrop based on that. Literally the only people who seem to care are airdrop hunters as opposed to legitamite users of arbitrum.

>> No.50846604

>>50846355
retail won't be touching eth mainnet at all
they will be using l2s like arbitrum one and nova depending on the security needed by the dapp
this will all be abstracted away through ccip so users won't even know what l2 they're using
eth will become a settlement layer
so the answer is... look at the fees on l2s now:
https://l2fees.info/
when they add nova it will be the lowest cost

>> No.50846629

>>50846604
Retail will take a while to accept L2 imo. Even advanced eth users are barely able to comprehend using a fucking bridge. Retail loves bsc solana bs not eth. Having to go onto l2 eth without any boppin new heckin shit dog coins means no retail. Then again maybe arbidoge megamoon and all the classics come back.

>> No.50846639

>>50846552
and that's if they even do an airdrop
if they do i would think it would be based on activity + a bonus for how early you bridged
maybe an additional small bonus for nfts in the odyssey but yeah arbitrum team aren't dumb, they're not going to reward the "wen airdrop??!" retards

>> No.50846647

>>50846300
> low security requirements
So at that point just use a centralized server

>> No.50846654

>>50846552
Honestly? Me too, it's a sybil magnet for pajeet airdrop farmers. I will do the odyssey just in case, but if they just say "enjoy your nfts!" and do the airdrop completely differently I would fully support it, just to see the airdrop farmer seethe.

>> No.50846657

>>50846629
they won't be using a bridge
they won't know
ccip will be integrated into metamask etc
obviously not going to be tomorrow but yeah

>> No.50846671

>>50846657
wait what does this do

>> No.50846675

>>50846647
It's still more secure than a centralised server, which has a 1 of 1 security guarantee. Nova only needs 2 honest participants out of a dozen, and OffChain Labs is one of the participants so really you only need one other being honest for it to work.

>> No.50846699

>>50846647
remember that it doesn't have to be perfect, just "better"
unlike a centralised server, nova gives a credibly neutral environment for executing smart contracts
that is the key, the trustless execution between parties

>> No.50846764

>>50846671
https://blog.chain.link/cross-chain-smart-contracts/
we are the early adopters
it time it will all be abstracted away
a bridge will be used but users won't be doing the bridging

>> No.50846817

So what to buy in anticipation of nitro? There is no arbitrum token
