u living under a rock?

US gov sanctioned TC and banned any US citizens from using it. USDC being US-based then exercised their centralization to freeze USDC assets currently associated with TC.

Basically the nightmare scenario that decentralization folks have been warning about for years has finally started.

Bad for decentralization, good for globohomo

Circle has been cozying up to US regulators for a while now, so no surprise they're flexing full censorship compliance (aka bootlicking)

At a minimum, I think it's a wake-up call to many in crypto that even if you have something onchain, that doesn't inherently make it censorship resistant.

Bullish for fully decentralized stablecoins (no, not DAI).

Okay what then? DAI is the best bet imo

>> No.50825171

>>50825090
No they're not. Problem is Circle immediately froze assets in the mixer as soon as the sanction was announced. So nobody had time to react. There was like 75 million USDC frozen.

What even fully decentralized stablecoin is there?
RAI?

>> No.50825339

>>50825169
DAI is like 50% USDC and additionally the DAO is going to start dabbling in US treasuries, so yeah not decentralized at all.

>>50825279
I've heard good things about RAI

I know Kujira will be launching a fully decentralized CDP stablecoin called USK in a month or two, but that's in IBC land

Why not just stick to USDT?
Despite all the shits it got over the years, it hasn't failed.

...or will it?

They can freeze your money.
It's mostly fine though if you're not doing anything like interaction with Tornado Cash or whatever.

>> No.50828474

>>50827368
USDT is just the chink version of USDC, both are 100% centralized and can freeze your assets whenever they want

Anyone buying FLX or is only the stable coin useful? or is it going to get rugged like luna:
