Let's talk about the UK job market. Why is it so fucked?

I saw a stat of average salary 5 years post graduating from Oxbridge was like £45k. The UK job market is so fucked if you check Linkedin alumni for Oxbridge and compare it to Ivy leagues in the US its crazy. Top 5 destinations for Oxbridge grads: two of them are Big 4 and one is Accenture, all pay like shit.

Median salary of LSE Economics grads is £38k. Compare that with Wharton Finance grads in the US who make $100k average, and pay less tax.

Even if you get work hard and get into one of the top UK unis, you still end up poor compared to average US students.

Not just finance, but tech also has an extremely low comp in the UK.

If you look at the UK rich list. The richest people are mostly all foreign and the rest of the list is business owners in random industries with a few hedge fund managers sprinkled in. It's not like the US where its dominated by Ivy league grads.

That's because everyone and their dog gets a masters degree compared to the US, where due to costs you only really go that far if you know you're going to make money afterwards to make it up.
Sorry to say but young brits are just fucking lazy, no one wants to actually work, they want to press buttons on keys in an office with a ping pong table.
I make 55k-60k as middle management in a hotel with a highschool diploma, a waiter in london makes more money than a junior architect because you know, there's just too many damn architects.

Britain deserves this. Such a shitty fucking economy, "let's just bet everything on financial services and laundering the money of Russian oligarchs, lol".

Utterly, utterly fucked. Britain has next to no natural resources; seventy million people (with over one million inbred pajeets and niggers added every year!) crammed onto a tiny island; completely trashed the greatest education system in the world (Grammar schools/Russell Group); a sprawling public sector that vastly overpays useless managers instead of those delivering the services (NHS managers, local government and senior 'leadership' in academies all on over £200K per year); absolutely no industrial strategy; no energy security strategy; a people obsessed with nothing other than owning a German car on finance and the value of their shitty little house; stifling regulation that crushes innovation and entrepreneurship such that the highest aspirationnof the young is the fucking Civil Service 'Fast Stream'; and has let world-class manufacturing specialties wither away to nothing. Our only strategy is to import ever more third-worlders in an attempt to keep wages down and minimise the cost of services, including filling NHS vacancies with niggers who don't actually do any fucking work; whilst simultaneously pumping the property market.

To compound this, we're belligerently snapping at Russia and China, and commiting ourselves to the defence of an EU that is in return trying to bankrupt us and cutting us off from goods and services. Our geopolitical Grand Strategy is 'do whatever the USA wants us to', with absolutely zero thought given to whether we can afford it, whether we have a competent military (we don't), whether we are getting anything in return, and whether we have secured access to energy (we haven't).

As Hitchens says: I have never seen a more doomed country

Honestly it’s over for Britain, literally don’t have an economy there. Mutts have Silicon Valley, oil and gas and the military industrial complex for traditional engineers, an emerging private aerospace sector, overpaid healthcare professionals, and on top of that a finance sector that mogs Britain’s.

If you’re a young person what do you even do in britain? There’s no opportunities at all, I guess you just do some worthless finance job.

As it should be. Why do you assume someone is bringing real value to the economy just because they're LSE graduates? If anything salaries in the UK reflect the actual worth of a person's job more so than in many other countries.
Let me tell you something OP, I've worked as a delivery driver in one of the home counties during the pandemic. I delivered to all types of homes rich and poor. You know what I noticed? Almost every delivery I made to a home that looked like it was worth more than a million had some sort of construction/electric/road maintenance van parked on the driveway. And you know what was even more shocking? None of those homes had a car newer than 5 years.

You're mad at the country because you got fooled into thinking your diploma was worth fuck all. The best thing about the UK is that we have a dirt poor government unlike America or Germany so weasels such as yourself don't get rewarded for your academic arrogance. It's part of the reason why Hitchens is so butthurt too. He probably sees himself as a thinker of national importance who deserves a six figures salary and were he American he'd probably make that much working for one of their gay television networks. Luckily in this country we only have the BBC and a few other channels that literally survive selling advert slots to charities lmao.

The wealth of this country is out of reach for you because you don't know what work is. Vermin such as yourself had your moment in the sun when all the big brains were pillaging the public purse for muh science. That's now over and the government is broke. If you don't bring anything of value you're all out of luck. Now stick that diploma up your arse and cry moar faggot. Society doesn't need your "expertise".

UK grad wages have stagnated for a while now.
It's more of a structural issue as a decade of Tory mismanagement comes home to roost. Supporting service industries which don't do any actual work.
Subsidising their geriatric voting base by importing thirdies and imposing a ludicrous tax burden on workers. .
Then refusing to build any houses so the selfsame gerontocrats get rich sitting on their assets. But since no young person wants to start a family while living in rented accomodation, the birth rate stagnates.
So the gerontocrats fall for the Brexit meme, meaning we end up importing more darkies instead of Europeans.
The rot set in with New Labour, but it's quite incredible how the Tories have done absolutely nothing to reverse it over 12 years in government. The current leadership election has convinced me we're definitely past the point of no return.

>> No.50820804 [DELETED]

UK water companies are 71% owned by foreign companies/interests.

Debt amongst water companies has risen from zero in 1991 to £54bn in 2021 whilst captial expenditure (investment in infrastructure) has remained level at ~£5bn a year. Dividends to shareholders average £1.6bn a year.

In **EVERY** year since privatisation revenues from customers exceeded costs; debt has been taken on simply to increase the dividend payouts to shareholders.

3.4 billion litres a day are leaked by these companies; 2/3rds of chalk streams are below sustainable flow-rates due to being drained by said companies.

In 2021 alone there were 560,000 incidents of flushing raw sewage into our rivers and beaches - they pumped sewage into our waterways for 3.5 million hours in the year. less than 14% of waterways are safe to swim in for this reason.

We're not building enough houses. Even if we stopped all immigration tomorrow, we're way behind on what we need.
But it's too late. Young white natives aren't going to start having kids living in squalid rented accommodation. So we either have to tear down the whole social state (since we haven't got enough growth to support our ageing, non-working population) or we continue to accept immigrants.

the problem is when you work out what the real tax rate actually is.

you create $200k of value / work for your employer.

minus $40k for VAT
business rates $5k
national insurance $5k
insurance tax $2k
income tax $20k
corporation tax $20k

the actual tax rate is 50% of turnover or the "value" of the work you do as an employee. and then once a business pays its costs for actual stuff it needs to operate, whats left over to pay staff is very little.

in the usa those taxes cap at around 30% rather than 50%, which down the line means you can pay staff twice as much. but then you have buy healthcare yourself.
