Yet normies take life advice from therapists who make $50k/yr (not even real doctors!) and end up being happier than 99% of /biz/.

I’ve been in therapy in some form for probably half of my life. I don’t really do it much anymore. I’m going into a partial hospitalization program pretty soon though. I’ve always been a loner but COVID has basically destroyed my mind and I need a week-long intensive program like that to set me straight. I only leave the house once every other week and I’m terrified of being on the road. I don’t talk to anyone except for my parents. The total isolation over the past 2.5 years basically fried my brain.

Therapy promotes medicalization of human experience: everything bad is because of "trauma" that needs to be endlessly revisited; if you don't want to do something just set a "boundary"; etc. But it does help normies cope.

Who am I supposed to get help from then? I legitimately have awful, fucked up social anxiety. My heart starts racing and I get lightheaded if I'm just in line at Kroger's, not to mention talking to women or trying to make friends.

Look into seeing a psychiatrist for medication. I take propranolol as needed for anxiety. It’s a beta blocker.

I don't understand how people who have perspectives like yours don't just kill themselves. I'm not saying that in the normal joking or angry KYS way we do on here. If you choose to fall for 4chan memes at the cost of your own happiness and fulfilment you'll ngmi. The point of the therapist is for you to have hours to spew the bullshit you don't talk about or deal with an women tend to be more empathetic and sociable than men. Hell therapy is a one of the few places outside the kitchen it can be useful to have women.
