Ok let me explain this slowly for you retards go understand. They filed for a 4 for 1 stick split via dividend. There is several types of dividends. Stock dividends, cash dividends, property dividends. All of which the company is legally required to allocate capital for. In a stock dividend the par value cannot be less than that of the existing par value. If it is, the board needs to vote on it and vote to allocate the required capital for it. OR, if you’re allocating no capital at all then you can split the stock into several parts of equal value while maintaining the principle amount or current total market cap. That is a stock split via dividend. The board voted to create the new shares, split the value of the stock amongst those shares, and distribute them accordingly to each investor. Distribute means give instructions to custodians to distribute the value of their holding over the new aggregate share count. Ie, multiple your share count by 4. It does not mean GameStop handed out a batch of shares or certificates. They haven’t used certificates in many years. There are several other ways to be absolutely certain it wasn’t a dividend but just understanding the basic difference between that and a stock split is enough. There is nothing special about having a stock split via dividend. It is exactly the same as a forward split.

It was a 4-to-1 stock split issued in the form of a 3-to-1 share issuance as a dividend. The company literally made more shares, gave them to their transfer agent, and once their transfer agent had distributed those shares to the holders of the company that are directly registered with said transfer agent they gave the rest to the DTCC to issue to brokers to cover client allotments for their positions. That is what is and did happen up to the last part, where it seems the DTCC has decided to be faggots - mostly because they are faggots and Inggs amongst others are BCG cronies - and they decided to tell most brokers domestic and international to simply handle it as a regular stock split, yet paradoxically actually did issue the dividend to some brokerages. This is for a cash dividend. It's different in a stock split via dividend because if you sell after the record date but before the ex div, you aren't entitled to receive that dividend and instead it goes to whoever bought those shares from you. Too bad foe the DTCC that they don't get to change the rules, GameStop does, and they gave them the shares for distribution. If there aren't enough to go around, that's the shortseller's problem.

It can fill for higher though, so if it's trading at $50,000, and your limit is $20,000 (I don't know what CS limit max is) your order will fill at the higher number.

Real estate is propped up with leverage. The more "luxury premium" hidden in the property the harder the pain is going to be. No one can pay for a million dollar house if interest rates were to normalize, and banks are in no position to be extending loans.
My rule of thumb is to 1) Isolate any investment or business that requires debt (leverage). 2) What would happen if debt were to be removed and buying/selling returned to a cash market.

Housing is nice to have, but it has been treated like an investment for far too long. It is a consumer good, and it depreciates in value, it can never go up in value outside of what ORGANIC supply/demand can sustain. If you need 30 year mortgages to afford a house then there is a LOT of room for the market to go lower. Anyone with a $1M house banking on covering their retirement is in for a rude awakening when a glut of housing hits the market.
