I am in a real dilemma anons. My local bar that I frequent has shut down through poor finances. I and all my friends go there and it was a nice place. But the landlord of the prrmises is putting it up to rent again and the bar owner has left all the equipment and bar stuff in there in case the next business to move in is also a pub. I am thinking of renting it and starting it up again.

I need at least one other staff member or two perhaps. And I need to attract business to a place that was slow and quiet. And I need to work a day job and have the other person in there in the day to bring in lunch trade. Any ideas about how to do this?

You will need to bait in new clients with a promotion like: 3 beers - 1 free, then come back offering things other bars dont have

As for the other employee, try getting friend(s) to join in on your plan and do it 50/50. So you dont need to find some random. A group of friends took over a bar overhere and it seems to be working for them

The business will never succeed unless you are there personally running it, even then it might fail. Alll bartenders steal.

Yes I was thinking of doing pitchers and value based offers as we currently dont do that at all.

>>50771153
I have my cousin who used to work there who is offering to come on board to cover day shifts. She knows shit like pulling pints and I dont at all

>>50771165

What exactly makes you think that you will be able to turn it around? It wasn't profitable last time and you don't even seem to know what you're doing.

If they couldn't make it profitable, why would you be able to?

no bars gives away shit like that for a reason
>>50772634
>pitchers
that attracts cheap people that dont spend very much, be careful with deals

most bars give away salty food, to make you drink more.
order pitcher of beer = free 1 lbs of chicken wings
dont give away booze just salty food.

also dont work a day job, you need to be at the bar all the time. employee theft and bad financial management is what makes bars fail. the profit margins in bars are razor thin so you need to watch every penny.

how hard would it be to add like a single bowling lane to a bar, I imagine the equipment to set the pins and return the ball isn't cheap but a gimmick like that could draw in people

W-whats "the tavern guy"?

>>50772893
I could see blatant mismanagement that a monkey could fix but i didnt work there so i could never suggest it. My cousin worked there and she knows far more about hispitality as a business and wants on board.

>>50772957
Lol it is a tiny space they would dominate the place.

>>50773001
They ran they place like retards. Pricing was shocking. Stuff on offer that didnt sell but they'd keep it because it was interesting quirky garbage. The owner came in once a month. I would take it seriously.

>>50773085
Fair point. Theft is a non issue as i said as my cousin will be running it day to day so i can trust her. I cannot go full time yet. I need an income stream to support stuff there like wafes and rent until its back on its feet.

quality for a reasonable price sells. lot of good youtube vids for fast food way better than the big companies, also lot of crap vids.
The sauce is one of the important things, for hamburger I use on the lower half, mustard, yogurt and honey, and for the upper half of the bread a mix of also honey, balsamico cream, hot chillie paste and a single malt wiskey, scottish, spring onions and or some medium to mild peppers for the paddys and one egg per half kilo beef.
ok, I'm a kraut, but that tasts good af, got that from several youtube vids.
