Do you know anyone who works in FAGMAN, if so how different were they from you?

My middle school friend works at Facebook now. He is pretty similar to me, but hasn't changed too much from our middle school days.

you get way better pay in crypto

crypto is mostly a fad, like the dotcom bubble. The field will contract and then a very few cryptos will be useful.

bubbles fuel innovation. there's easily another 4-7 years to make big money in crypto then you can move on to a shitty faang job

bubbles stagnate innovation by misallocating resources for useful work to vaporware and pie in the sky promises.

Yes. He was cool but he was genuinely bad as a mechanical engineer. Like the kind you should be afraid of making stupid enough mistakes that kill people. Idk how he landed a ME role at Microsoft. I applied and got rejected, guess I wasn't brown enough.

I worked in Binance (m&a). Now I work at alphabet/Google (not saying which team).

It's really not as bad as the news and pundits make it seem. Yeah you have the blue haired nigger loving feminazis, but generally you can get away with ignoring them since people only pretend to give them credence. When it comes down to it, that shit doesn't really make it into the day to day activities, it's just window dressing on formal docs.

Traditional job beats out crypto in my experience. Binance was so fucking shady. Those chinks would cut corners at every turn, so there were no transferable skills to take away.

Now my old team is being led by cz's mistress.

bubbles do not change the average rate of innovation (and its rate of change) over several decades.

post proof. after the crypto bubble in 2017, the rate of development and innovation exploded when compared to 2015/2016.

Was it useful innovation or wasteful innovation? The way I see it, hardly anyone uses crypto still.

Friend of mine works for google, she's essentially a complete normie
That being said, I also worked for google for a year after my phd and I feel like it didn't change much, I was still spending 12 hours a day here (WFH)
When I left and got a military contract I started doing martial arts if that tells you anything

Arrogant af. I know someone that works on Google, not even development, she feels like she's better than most ppl even though I'm making more as an analyst for a small M&A firm. I also met someone from Facebook, but he was content moderation and that job unironically depressed him
