You can't think about it like that. You should budget a certain amount of money every month for PMs and buy regardless of spotprice.

If next month spotprice has gone up, you've made money, and you buy less.

the more i buy gold the more i think the spot price of gold doesnt matter. the fact that you can use unbacked paper fiat to buy gold is crazy in itself.

chinese people think its crazy that america can print out money and use it to buy chinese goods, but americans themselves generally dont realize it would be wise to turn that worthless fiat into gold.

unrelated but pic related are some cufflinks i wish i had bought. 14k textured dog and cat cufflinks with an interesting finish for pretty much exactly spot.

Imagine what the equivalent of /pmg/ would be like if the Axis had won.
>Thread would of course be in German, presumeably called something like Edelmetalle HauptFaden
>Hoarding Precious Metals may be illegal in such a timeline, but such laws are unenforceable and could easily be dodged under the guise of Numismatics
>Paper Silver would be shilled a lot more
>People would be in pretty much universal agreement about Silver Reichsmarks having incredibly bland designs
>Would stack them anyway due to them being incredibly common and cheap
>Imperial 3 and 5 Marks would be considerably more in demand similar to Morgan Dollars
>There'd be less complaining about the Jews due to them not really controlling finance to the same extent in such a timeline
>Anons shoving coins in their foreskins would be considerably more common, due to more anons having foreskins
>People wanting to appear edgy would be posting stacks US or British Junk Silver they bought at 3x spot from altesilber.us
>Roosevely dimes would actually be sought after
>People ITT would still dislike whatever the current system is, but not as much or as openly
>The Sovereign Fag would be replaced by an Italian spamming Gold 20 Lires
>"20 Lire Badda Bing!"
>He'd still whine about Anime, with Anime having originated in Japanese occupied California instead of US occupied Japan
>Things would be more censored, but in different ways
>The Equivalent of Pan Man would be panning out somewhere in Siberia
>The most common type of Silver Round would be modelled after a pre-36 Reichspfennig instead of a Buffalo Nickel
>Moon Landing Commemoratives would look the same, but with a different Flag
>Whatever Bullion Coin produced by the German Reich would be vastly overpriced, triggering a flood of jokes about Jews every time it's mentioned
>The shitty commemoratives churned out by various mints would have a more nationalistic slant
>The Inavailability of Japanese coins outside of Japan would be a much bigger issue

I'm not actually sure the world would be so much different by this point. I kind of feel like Germany would have begun to liberalize after Hitlers death but in much different ways. Racial laws would likely remain strict, but freedom of speech laws and sexual equity laws would likely have pushed forward, as well as more liberal economic policies. I do think the sort of violent anarchy we have now would probably not have happened though, no racial riots etc.

I agree with you on that, there are certain analogous stages of growth that all civilizations go through regardless of who's in power, just like a child growing to adulthood regardless of what he thinks or does.
Economic liberalization would probably have preceded all the other reforms by a few decades; Germany's fiscal policy during the war would've created so much debt that they'd need to restructure/replace the Reichsmark. This combined with the transition to a post-war economy they'd probably be more open to liberal economic policies if they thought they'd solve some of their problems.

Nationalist states and Republics always start with some form of dictatorship/warlordism. The USA was a rare occurrence of the warlord agreeing to step down, in every other timeline George Washington ruled with an iron fist until the day he died. I think the US is in such bad shape that we have two choices, total fascistic uprising with the death of millions by disease, starvation, or death camps or total collapse leading to balkanization and the creation of new states where they have a lot of misery while they are slowly established.

Otherwise if you're not close to a reputable dealer, just order from Perth mint or ABC, both are fine.

Yeah looks like trace amounts of silver and gold there. You should really consider learning how to recover PMs from circuit boards and electronics, hoarding piles of unprocessed stuff isn't smart but recovering PMs from them could be a good skill, and you can use household chems like acetic acid, salt, Hydrogen peroxide instead of HCl or other harsh chems if they're hard to get or use where you are.

You'll need a huge amount of the stuff to make a dent in your portfolio. Buy a bar or two for the novelty and appreciate its unique color, and you won't lose out. One Anon's advice is to offer to purchase scrap copper off the hands of businesses that create/collect scrap copper, saving them time and effort to take it to recyclers themselves. Then melt the stuff down and make bars yourself. You can become a junk dealer this way.

Basically any and all electronics has a fair bit or trace amounts of copper at this point anon, stacking broken or used electronics is a good bet
old copper pipes that aren't being used anymore is good also
copper pennies, not just us cents but some Canadian cents or other coins that have high amounts of copper
>for those who don't know, a lot of peso coins actually have more copper in them than a use one cent, even a us nickel coin has more copper in it, as well as nickel, as examples of copper stacking for copper weight
If you just want pure copper like 90% to 99% pure then yeah only a few certain coins do this so you have to know which ones. The premiums on copper bullion is a bit high right now so I'd recommend getting ones whose artwork you really enjoy rather than for stacking if you want one
Also looking at the copper to silver ratio
>en.macromicro.me/collections/3351/commodity-silver/26748/copper-silver-ratio-silver
Copper had a high of 0.33 ounces of copper to spot of 1 ounce of silver, and a low of 0.09 ounces of copper to spot of 1 ounce of silver, and is currently sitting at 0.17 ounces of copper to the current spot of 1 ounce of silver
Lets lowball and assume it stays are around 0.125 of an ounce to silver spot per ounce. or 8 ounces of copper to equal 1 ounce of silver
The amount of silver in 1 merc is at most 0.0723 or 2.24 grams
The amount of copper in a pre-1982 penny is 2.94 grams
2.24 grams of silver divided by the copper/silver ratio of ~0.125 would be around 17.92 grams of copper, or would equal about 6 US pennies to equal 1 merc dime

even lowballing even further below to 0.1 or 0.09 or just above 10 ounces of copper to 1 ounce of silver
7-8 pre-1982 pennies would be enough to equal the silver content of one merc dime, so getting pretty close to the face values of each

I have no minimum goals. I want to save enough metal to buy a house. Then enough metal to maybe possibly not have to work myself to death, but that seems unlikely. Finally I want enough metal to pass down to my kids so they won't have to work as hard for as long. My parents have generously provided me with all they can, the least I can do is pass it on.

I have no minimum goals. As new and interesting pieces come out, I buy them. After years of doing this I find I have far too much generic, therefore have mixed feelings about spot price - want it low so I can buy, want it high so I can offload some crap. I'm also now looking more to gold with the sense that I can realistically afford it in trade with the silver.

When/if the resistance levels of 18 muttburgers per Troy Oz spot price is broken again it could go down as low as 15 and change. The resistance at 22 was a good show for silver but it broke that after a few months.
Silver will be the lowest right before it is the highest. When silver corrects, historically, it corrects last and fastest.
So the bottom might not be in yet so don't blow all your dry powder. Just cost average in and buy regularly regardless of the price volatility.

Frenly reminder normally by next week the comex warehouse will pass under the bar of 50Moz silver held in registered.
A -66% loss since the silver squeezerino started, representing 100Moz gone from (((their))) vaults in a year and half.

I think it's a pretty important stepping stone and will motivate stackers who could have been demoralized/confused by the recent spot's price action.
Also it's not just silver, their gold vaults are getting emptied at an even faster rate lately.

by the way i have noticed something and i want to share it
(this is what i did, but what you would also do, to do it): if you go up and down a road a few times and put all of the cans together in one spot, near a bench or something, and another pile down at the end of the road too
you can have a trail where you pick cans up and throw them onto a pile. and you can take them from the end of the road, and put them on the pile, then take them from the pile into a bin
and if you find an extra can between two points, you drop a can and pick up the new one, to always have 3-4 cans
there are nearly 0 cans here now and ive gotten rid of the pile at the bottom, to put it near the top. theres only some cans left in the pile now that im waiting to pick up and put in the bin when its dry outside

>
what ive noticed is that people (when they see a big pile of cans near a bench) will put more cans in that pile if they have any
so instead of putting it on the road, they will put the cans on the pile for me to bin later
this is generating me with 3 ring-pulls every 2 days so far!

also here is my ringpull collection. i hope this is a full can (i want to get a big pile of them while its still new and exciting, to see how big it gets)

I still don't understand what Bogs have to do with /pmg, PMs, or even financing. They're a forced meme on 4chan, and the text on the coin is even sillier. Then given that it's regularly for sale, there was no 'buy it or lose it' motivation.

Bogs doing Bog shit is a long running meme on /biz/ and 4chins in general.

a quick note about apmex. i love slurping up their shit, especially their ebay specials which are priced similarly to their official site clearance, but without the CC premium.

95% of the time if you buy AU to BU that's what you get, but you always must be prepared to get kiked. those fucking motherfuckers sold me a mexico 20 pesos with an indelible mark embedded in the finest details of the coin (the aztec calendar)

meanwhile my helvetias and roosters were exactly as expected/a little better. so buyer beware. fortunately they frequently stock st gaudens slabbed at ms-62-64 for ~$2k each, always a very safe bet

The bogs weren't doing it. They were joke fake spokespeople.

>>50748319
Yeah, yeah... I was on /sci/ mostly when it was all the rage to post their images and spew really stupid shit. It was disruptive and annoying. Maybe that's why I have an aversion to anything to do with them.

It was made hastily to cash in on the Bogs' death without any /pmg/ feedback on the design. Disappointing compared to what could've been.

I get it. I'm saying it's pointless meme.
Apu and Yotsuba are real symbols of 4Chan.
wagmi is all about PM hodling.
Holo may not be 4chan canon, but at least the story is about financing, and she
Prospector is panning for gold - it's a /pmg/-pointed design.
"pomp eet, domp eet?" You don't buy/sell PMs like that - this is stock market or ecoin talk.
And yeah, this too:

I don't think it was the best choice personally, by the man was trying to make some money and the rounds turned out pretty good.

I figured I should buy an injun now before the premiums get even worse. Before gold went down, $700 was the minimum for them on most bullion sites. Probably cheaper at lcs though. Give it 10-15 years and they'll be like $800+.

This. You can tell this board is full of zoomers because they dont know the basics of financial wealth. Its called diversifying. I lol at everyone that asks "pms or crypto?" The answer is pms AND crypto.... And stocks, art, fine wines, random collectibe stuff, etc. No particular order there obviously.

ugh fuck. are you talking about a full or half injun? i'm in the market for a full but it'll have to wait until september or october. november is no good cuz it's the next autoinvest 1 oz cheap gold. but yes i desperately want an injun and am proud of you for owning one. bl pratt is THE american scupltor, you know one of his random bronze sculptures on some highway bldg on cape is currently on ebay for $10k or so?

>Diversification is owning a piece of paper that says you own an infinitesimal fraction of a company that pays you no dividends nor gives you any say in how the business is run, but you can try to sell it to some other schmuck down the line for more federal reserve notes. The price of that piece of paper also has zero relation to the economy and is propped up by debt spending. Also the brokerage may or may not let you access your funds, for your own good, of course.
The rest I agree with, but stocks are a huge scam. I think I'll keep my money and just start a business or invest in a business whose owner I know and trust.

yeah start a business, it's a great idea. my own small biz has excellent positive cash flow. beware though, there's a 1:1 time:money correlation when dba an LLC. not hugely time-effective but a great way to fund a side project.

then again, all my small biz profits got straight into vtsax, dividends reinvested, and i fund the biz itself through my own FT employment
