Sell it all. Then buy it. And sell it again. And do it 50 times. This isn't a wash sale because you're not trying to claim taxable benefits. This isn't churning or frothing, because you aren't incentivized per transaction.
Instead, your $1200 stack of 20 shares (formerly $60/share) now has 20 volume at $60 and 1000 volume at $20. This puts your new cost average not at $60, but at $20.78

i have lost lots of money trading fx. if u have enough capital to trade without much leverage it can be quite profitable imho, but the randomness of it will mean you will get closed out eventually no matter how sound your thesis was and is. if you have say a million dollars in cash however you could absolutely buy AUD now, and likely cash out for a 30 percent profit at some time in the next 2 or 3 years.. low risk profits. also another way of doing the same is to simply buy foreign stocks, ie, as an ausfag my US stocks are already exposed to currency fluctuations.
If i was to cashbout today id be up 20 percent on the currency conversion alone. Thus if you had a million dollars you would be better off buying foreign stocks and getting capital gains as well as currency gains.
