Figure out how much you make after taxes but since you live at home with your parents I assume they're not charging you rent.
Just look into companies that pay dividends and start putting money into those.
Don't worry about the dips and whatnot it all works out fine if you just cost average it.

Spread the money around too. Get 10-100 shares in different companies and just do that.
If you can get 60,000 in the stock market with a return of 6% that'll give you 3600 a year to just invest.
You do it for 5-10 years and you'll be making enough to cover your mortgage each year when you finally decide to buy a place.
