But I don't see it plummeting either, I think it's more likely that bitcoin is going to be more stable because of having been adopted so much and everyone anticipating both pumps and dumps buying and selling earlier and earlier.

The real question is if we'll have another bubble for alts, ntf, metaverse bullshit or another meme. With the current economy and normies getting scammed by their favourite influencers it might not happen for a while.

Problem is, if it is obvious that there will be no more ATH in the long term, most of the money (speculation money) will go out. So 99% of the liquidity will go out once it is clear that the 'going up forever' crowd is wrong. Price will go back to 100$ and crypto is niche again.
