Instead of buying a whole bunch at once you set aside the chunks you was going to invest to minimize the downside risks. You minimize the potential gains if it instantly goes tits up but minimize the downside with the same amount of capital.

DCAing means you “time the bottom over a stretch of time”. It’s biggest problem is its use over multi-year cycles, which we are in right now. If you started DCAing in 3 months ago, you should be above 30k average buy in, except if you adjusted your buy-ins to be higher during sub 20k times.

Given that we will go lower, your DCAing strat is like catching a falling knife just you hurt yourself continuously.
