This is a serious post. I was bearish on the economy. For months I denied the truth, I adopted a doomer mindset and decided that the world would collapse. I doubled down on my shorts again and again, any time we had a green day or even just a few candles. But it's time I admit I was wrong. Bears are wrong. The US is not and will not be in a recession this year. The GDP will recover next quarter. By then we will have returned to ATHs, so the announcement will send us rocketing up another leg. The market has to compensate for inflation after all. Tech earnings were much better than expected and are projected to get better. Ultimately we had a slight slowdown to help with inflation and that's already over. Markets overreacted and so did I. Sure it's scary flipping long now after the huge run up we had, but stocks are still very cheap. So it was justified. We priced in an apocalypse and got a whole bunch of nothing. All I ended up with was a hole in my bank account and several pairs of pants ruined by my own fecal matter, excreted almost daily as I watched, helpless, the line going up and to the right, again and again. So I sold my shorts, I closed my worthless puts. I bought a few SPY calls, some SIGA, TQQQ and SOXL (SOXL in particular is still very cheap). I won't make as much money as the brave bulls who held through this correction, but hopefully I will at least make up for those losses this year.

I'm not entering this trade, since for VIX in particular, it's very easy for it to blow up. If it crabs, the trade will lose money. I'd be more willing to do it on a typical stock instead. However, I'm going to track it.
What I've been doing is trying to play IV spreads that are 60/90 dte. Depending on whether the volatility is high or low determines which leg is long/short. You hold until 30 dte and then close the position, before theta decay really kicks in. So really, the chart isn't completely accurate since I wouldn't want to hold this until expiry - rather 30dte which looks like this instead.
