anyone used europabullion recently?
it shows a Gross Price, but in cart/checkout it doesn't add VAT. so where's the net price?
for example, britannias 25e
5e above spot
which is not a very unusual price?
where's the 20% VAT?
I ordered recently and it did not add anything to the price. so I dont understand where's the VAT.

as an example, europanmint sells britannias for €29
so they're charging VAT
but europabullion isn't? (they're supposed to since their website was down for maintenance with a message about VAT in start of the month)

The "Egyptian Gods" series is currently selling Horus, bottom-left. Cleopatra came out in 2015, next in 2016, 18, 19, 2 in 21, and now Horus. Provident/JM Bullion were the sellers who commissioned the rounds.

if its got a lot of visible gold running through it, i ll usually keep it and save it for a buyer / collector as its worth so much more as is than converted to raw bullion.
Stuff like this, little bits get ground down as i cant save them, the particles are often very weak and can fall out of pockets if your not careful. Its easier dealing with it as gold dust or as a dot of gold smelted down. It honestly depends a lot on the character of each piece too, some i grind up others get to stay. This stuff i was hoping would have more visible big chunks in it, instead its mostly fine wire gold. I ll grind it all up and do a proper assay to figure out the values, but its probably well over 3-4 ounces a tonne. The lost mine this came from was reporting 10-20 oz per tonne in the 30s but only a small amount of material was ever shipped, the ore was to nuggety to make it pay commercially.

Metals are just following the market upwards after the fed announcement. Metals will go lower once the stock market goes lower, like it's done a week after every fed rate hike.

Maybe I'm wrong but I don't see this being the big one. When the big one comes, it'll come all at once and within hours silver will become unobtanium.

The miner and the school did not give a fuck, they let us walk into the mine, sort through the piles of ore, and wander around dangerous machinery. The miner even let us take whatever we wanted home. I wish I hung onto the chunk of ore I took home, the miner said there was $20 dollars worth of gold in it, but it would be 7 or 8 times that now.

Sign up to Chards and get your coins from there.

https://www.chards.co.uk/

Royal Mint is pretty fucking expensive, plus their minting of bullion grade coins have been abysmal. One of my silver coins from there had a massive scratch all the way across the obverse.

As for Chards a good price on gold coins is 3% above spot price. Silver is much more, around 18% premium plus VAT. Second hand silver coins don't have VAT so if you're just into bullion and don't care about the condition I would go for them. Video clip is from their safe collection.

Here's my take on some gold coins. The color swatch and magazine photo are for balance. Gold is really hard to show. For instance, the Tern coin is about the most proof-like and shiny yellow gold of them all, but you can't see that in this photo because it catches the light a little off. The comparison between materials is otherwise pretty good.

Hello there

>> No.50637577

Regardless of the spot price or silver, I have noticed the actual retail price of many numismatic silver coins rises fairly significantly as the years pass.

In 2020, you could buy a post-1920 silver English half crown for 8 euro. In 2022, they are hard to come by for less than 12 euro.

In 2020, an American silver peace dollar could be had for between 30 and 35 euro, now you must pay at least 40 euro.

A Canadian silver dollar was once to be had for merely 25 or even 22 euro, today you must pay well over 30 euro and in some cases, the same price as for an American peace dollar.

>> No.50637920

>In 2020, an American silver peace dollar could be had for between 30 and 35 euro, now you must pay at least 40 euro.
I've noticed this in the US too, an average grade Peace or Morgan Dollar used to cost a little more than an ounce of Silver, but now they're regularly 5-10 bucks over spot. I haven't experienced the same price creep for Canadian Silver Dollars or British .500 Crowns (there just isn't much demand for them in the US), but it's a really weird phenomenon to see common stuff rise in premium without really getting any rarer. I can't even think of anything that would be driving the price increase on these.

I'm new to collecting gold. Can someone confirm what I'm thinking? So the price of an ounce of gold was $30 back in the 1890s, adjusted for inflation that's about $700 an ounce. Does that mean gold has essentially only increase in value 3x and over 100 years?

My understanding in the US is, you can inherit a very large amount tax-free (that is, estate or inheritance tax). For precious metals though, you need to get it inventoried and valued for market value at the time you get it. This will vary for numismatic or artistic enhancement, or basic bullion.
If you decide to sell, your gains are the difference.
It is at this point where I should also recommend if possible that you record serial numbers if stamped on the pieces. That will enable you to prove exactly how much gain or loss there is.
I photograph most of my stuff. No piece is perfect, and flaws are as good as a serial number.

I want to buy gold from Perth Mint but how do I know it’s really gold? What if they send me a bunch of fake shit and I only find out decades later?

They are legit and endorsed by the government

However - it seems that gold miners have bottomed and it looks like a great time to buy. I would recommend NST and NCM as a kangaroo person

Respectfully Newcrest mining can go fuck themselves for reasons I cannot disclose. Looked at Perth mint more and turns out bullion buying is not even available now. Fuck

If you go to a regular bullion shop, they still have plenty of bars available, even from Perth mint (from my experience)

And yes, I chose NST since they have better management/ceo (extensive track record), but not going to shill someone my personal preference. Gold miners in general are doing well and you can see even barrick gold turning around.

You can see gold price rebounding and energy costs moderating, all bullish for gold miners (since this caused the crash in the first place)

Newcrest and Osisko Development have been getting a LOT of hate from those in industry circles the last few months. I dont know what Newcrests been doing but Osisko's local leadership are the worst.

102 reasons to own silver.

>> No.50644638

is a britannia 2021 (1oz silver) easy to sell?
i was thinking of buying one, really like the design; but when it comes to silver, ive always thought buying maples and eagles is best…
perhaps a gold britannia is the better decision, golden premiums aren’t as overpriced as silver’s
