Yes, the situation is neatly solved now by making students indentured. I think the lack of consequences for the state is ridiculous. If people could default, the state/anyone should be more careful to whom and for what they give out loans. Who knows, maybe this would even lead to quality and price control on education rather than selection for 'streamlining'.

In the end academia would probably go back to the rich and gifted, professional education would be selected for heavily and tie in closely with industry. The rest doesn't fucking need titles and higher education and we can stop pretending they need them.
