Redpill me on buying a very cheap (<40k) house in rural nowhere as a fun weekend project. Is this doable with a full time job and logical as a place to park some cash?

You might find a cabin/shed on a property at that price, but the acreage would be small. Sounds like a headache desu just buy land and build something on it.
