all the activities paid with $link token on chainlink oracle network.

smart contract platforms(blockchains) are not able to get data from outside world, so this is called oracle problem. so, blockhains need someone to "read" real world data and upload it to blockchain by transactions.

but what happens if they report wrong data? in order to make sure projects can trust the data, chainlink token comes in. projects pay in data services with $link and if oracle network reports wrong data, they get slashed(this is gonna be available in coming years on chainlink network).

so $link token is,
- service payment for oracle network(outside data)
- insurance for data.

of course when oracle network integrated into many platforms, that's also beneficial because they can sell more services.
chainlink integrated with 13 blockchains(l1,l2 etc). many projects integrated chainlink solutions for getting data from the real world.

Hardly.
OG linkie here and gains botrunner.
We use LINK as gas essentially, the amount varies by how big the order is.
The amount of LINK we would use it based on our volume and the trade sizes, aka collateral x leverage.
The platform is currently pretty tiny so we won't budge the price of LINK anytime soon but perhaps in the future if the platform takes off.
