I have a video interview for a production manager job at a manufacturing plant. Why did they feel the need to make this virtual instead of in person... the only opportunity in my town is most likely closing for me and I will remain jobless and poor bros...

Video is easier then irl.

Get a good webcam, focus on having a good spot to do the video call (a home from a rich relative etc.). Overdress. Start with small talk and end with small talk. Write some questions down beforehand, look into every part of the job description. Check out the mission and values of the company. Practice if everything is working with a friend.

I know all above sounds lame af, but if you don't do it others will and they will get the job.
