Nothing is ever going to go back to how it was. Manufacturing was 26% of Mexico's workforce in 2018, but only 19% of America's workforce. We lost another 700,000 factory jobs in the covid recession. All those jobs will move to Mexico. Mexico has better welfare than the USA now and free healthcare. The incentive for Mexicans to come here is drying up and guatemalans will rather stay in Mexico to work in the Ford plant in Monterrey than go all the way to California to be treated like shit working in the hot sun. The Ford plant, at least, is not in the sun. Millions of illegals, anchor babies and even legals will steadily shimmy back southwards over the next 30 years as they had previously come up. Meanwhile all the young people in Michigan are leaving and the old factory workers are dying off and the factories going. A seismic shift is occurring in history.

The cause of both this and mexicans returning to mexico to make ford f150s come down to the same thing- jobs don't pay enough, skilled or unskilled and the cost of entry is too high to justify the squeeze. American companies took a fat shit on america and have now priced themselves out of both foreign labor which can make better money at home and american labor by being anti-american for so long. It turns out business schools teaching students to smash and grab and not care about longterm consequences was a bad idea.

I dunno man I think we've kind of bottomed out but I'm waiting to buy anything else until we see a bit of red. NFLX pumped everything more than expected and semiconductors have been pumping in expectation of the CHIPS bill passing so I think we're due a move to the downside for some random reason.

Either way it's great to finally see my 1 month chart in the green for basically the first time this year. FUCK BEARS.
