Good morning fellow wfh chads. I’ve been online for 3 hours and have only jerked off once so far (cutting back a little). I think I might ask my boss for a raise soon. I’ll going to tell him I’m overwhelmed by how much work they’re giving me. Kek

im going to fucking lose it. im learning to code but its not enough yet, im trying to build a company and its not enough yet, im applying for real coding careers but its not. enough. yet. i refused to wage or cave for two years when they forced everyone into wearing masks, i steeled myself in the face of every single person around me telling me i was a fool for refusing to get the shot for two years and resorted to faking a vaxpass to get any money coming in this year, while everyone around me is getting legitimately sick, half the co-workers are off and every second conversation i hear is interupted by a cough or cleared throat.
i think i could really lose it if everyone has the blinders pulled so hard theyre prepared to let it come back to two years of something worse than hell, something that takes years off your life and is cruel enough to let them forget the torment only to bring it back. i need a blessing

Lost my /WFH/ job of 3 years a few days ago. I genuinely loved that job and tried my hardest at it. Randomly, I saw a meeting on my calendar for later that day with an HR person I don't know and an exec I don't really know. Instantly, I knew what was up.
Showed up for the meeting and it was just:
>effective today, your employment at XYZ is terminated.
But why?
>we have decided to outsource your role. Thank you for your years of service.
Can I message my coworkers and tell them goodbye?
>No, your access to all internal channels has been revoked effective immediately.
Not going to lie bros, it hurt. I worked hard for that company, was performing 10/10 on my performance reviews, was getting bonuses or raises every 6 months, and was friends with the CEO. I'm guessing this was purely a financial decision.
I called my manager to ask what happened - ignored my call. Texted him - ignored my texts. Called and texted the CEO - ignored entirely.
>here's your reminder that at the end of the day your job can be exceptionally cruel to you and the people who claim to be "like another family" will unperson you and pretend you don't exist the moment it makes financial sense to do so

I’ve spent the last two years of WFH trying to get a business started. My app is going into testing tomorrow and I’ve got a second project kicked off. Im desperate to escape big tech but frankly there are too many openings in the business so I think I can coast another year while I get funding.
Keep that stick on the ice, bud. I hope you have savings. What are your plans?

Thanks for the encouragement bro. Luckily I saved like 70% of my paycheck each month, so I have money to live on. My plan is to find another job like that. I loved working for that company (it was in crypto, which was twice as fun), but at this point I just need to find a WFH job that pays the bills. Don't know if it'll be as good as that was, but we'll see.
>>50464952
It was a start-up that was growing fairly quickly, and I was one of their most senior employees. I made the mistake of thinking that being loyal to the company mattered; I didn't see them as some faceless corporation, but as a company that grew from single-digit employees to much larger with me there the entire time.

Find a job with a big soulless megacoro so they have to generate 6 months of pips and meetings and stat reviews before they can even think about firing you.

Thanks man, I agree. I was so respectful in my texts to the manager and the CEO; I thanked them for three great years, and just asked them if they could let me know why I was cut.
Can't decide if they were being cowardly, cruel, or just careless - and I'm not sure which of those three would be worse.
But yeah, this was a definite wake-up. I'll never make the mistake of being so loyal to a company like that.

Hindsight is 20/20. Our Executives had always bragged about how we treat our employees better than the other crypto companies do. However, in their defense, other crypto companies would set up an "alumni network" of their employees they had to cut and helped to try to find them a different job. My former company just wanted to pretend I never existed and treated me like a risk. Really shameful how they acted.

Few points:
I just found out that for me to cash my 401k to pay my mortgage off, I’d have to be separated from my company. If I lost my job I’d be ready to tap that account.

The way your leadership is acting is very feminine but have you considered that they’re ripping the bandaid off? Have you considered you’re a creep and they were done dealing with you? You should always self-evaluate.

New jobs are good and you can make it if you have true skills. Cream floats.

the meme about wagies, especially white collar wagies, being spineless cuck cowards isn't a meme. they don't want to freak with the discomfort of explaining why they've temporarily fucked up your life for their material benefit.

i like my job but i wouldn't hesitate to quit and fuck them up the ass for more money, because i know they'd pull the same shit with me, if they wanted to.
