Not really. You need to decide what industry you want to work in. Then learn everything you possibly can about it. Business challenges, regulatory changes, industry landscape, etc. And then find a way that you specifically can help the companies in that industry either make more money or spend less money. A detailed step by step way that only you can do. Then you start cold calling decision makers at these companies and basically act like a sales rep for yourself.

If the company is a large enough, they can afford to simply create a position for you if they truly believe you can do what you say and impact their bottom line. The worst they can do is hang up on you or never return your voicemails so you have nothing to lose.
