>Newfag here 6 months in. I've done research, read articles, looked at partnerships, projects on chain, etc. and I still can't definitively put this into the Shitcoin camp or non shitcoin camp.

Maybe the FUD is super effective but I figured I've lurked enough for one thread. There's no in-between on this coin. It's either literal token not needed Sergey dumping pajeet style long running scam coin or its revolutionary and will make millions of stinkies fresh and clean lambo drivers in a few years.
Every signal is mixed.
>Staking coming soon good!
>Long term holders only initially bad!

So are there any Bizitens who don't have an arbitrary hatred of this coin who can share some insight on this one? Is a make it stack even attainable now without a $100k investment? Nonmarines only please. If you held this up to $50 and back down to $7 I already know that you know this is the best investment of our lives since you would need that mantra in your head daily to avoid offing yourself.

Just looking for advice on Biz so I can do the opposite. Thanks in advance.

Maybe not, but I figured I'd see if there were anyone eloquent Bizanons who sorted through FUD already. Frankly it looks like a duck but it's barking.

Token not needed. No one needs a premined token for a price feed API.

I think I’m not the only one on here that realizes that the Chainlink discussion on here isn’t organic at all.

A complex mix of paid shills and bots post memes and start conversation. Real anons browsing /biz/ think these convos are real and start making convos themselves. Then when things die down, the bots and paid shills start again to capture new bagholders.

>>50447257
Exactly! I'm aware I'm sorting through shills, bots, desperate all in marines, etc. Other shitcoins are quite easy to spot after some research and time, but this one just has so much noise around it its hard to separate.

Chainlink has some potential within defi, but we really don’t know how long that circus will last. Also, read about vitalik’s opinion about oracles vs. merkle proofs.

There are a lot of moonboys in the Chainlink community who have a fundamental misunderstanding of the actual implementation and use of the tech. For example CCIP or ISO20022. Those are literally just messaging standards, but link marines act like they’re some kind of holy grail that will cause tokens to be bought up by the hundreds of millions (they won’t). Chainlink has some awesome tech, but I wouldn’t say it’s the most bullish project in all of crypto. Also, not sure if you were around last year, but there was a ton of hype around arbitrum and how it would kick off the “singularity”. We can all see how that turned out. It was a nothingburger.

>Also, read about vitalik’s opinion about oracles vs. merkle proofs.
Vitalik came back on that when he finally realized Merkle Proofs don't do shit for off chain data. See pic rel, Vitalik RE: stablecoins. Vitalik knows Oracles are needed, he just doesn't want Chainlink to steal the show. This in turn led to the absolute embarrassing display of Vitalik practically begging his buddies at Uniswap to pivot their governance token into a fully fledged Oracle token in an official Uni governance proposal:
>Uniswap does provide an “oracle” for the price of ERC20s traded on the exchange, but this is not a true oracle as it does not provide the price of anything in the outside world.
>I recommend that Uniswap and the UNI token step in and provide such an oracle
In other words, Chainlink as a project very needed, Chainlink token very needed (as per Vitalik RE: Sybil resistance), mETHeads forever seething and Vitalik WILL bend the knee.

Much obliged on this explanation. I see a lot of hype around CCIP from clearly nonbots holders but it didn't make sense to me. Perhaps I'm giving holders too much credit in understanding their own investments. The tech and projects on Link are really what have kept me peeking at this project though.

I'm actually more qualified to talk about this than most anons.I'm employed with a cyber-techno machinations company, I do a lot of security analyst programming type work. Open source, decentralized, APIs, partnerships, you name it. We'd be one of the first companies in line for something like Chainlink, if the decentralized smart contract space had more value over traditional data exchanges. There's a catch though, an underlying flaw more deeply embedded in the bedrock of LINK than the very code itself. The flaw is with the concept, and it's this: Companies won't actually go through the hassle of trusting their data API's through crypto.

Now I can already hear your keyboards going frantic, but hear me out. /biz/ hates banks, and traditional data providers. But actual companies, businesses, and investors do not. There's an old saying you might have heard of: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!". The idea that any of our bosses would give us the go ahead if we approached them to put our companies valuable data in a smart contract on a cryptocurrency called Chainlink, that they've never heard of, we'd be laughed out at best and fired on the spot at worst. We already have API data buyers and providers we trust.

'But Chainlink is trustless!' I hear you cry, but is that really a good thing? Just listen to the sound of it. Businesses don't want to spend millions of dollars on something that is trustLESS, they want something trustFUL. 'But the reputation system!', doesn't that defeat the whole point of your coin? If companies only trust nodes with high reputation, what's the difference between trusting banks and data providers that already have reputation, but in real life not on a computer screen.

The fact is, LINK is going to share the same fate as ETH will. A lot of 'real world application' hype, with a lot of 'crypto world application' reality. Only, this billion supply coin isn't going to come close to the $1k that Etherum hit. Happy gambling though anons.

Here’s a little tip for you for being such a polite OP. Celsius has been having money trouble. Check out which counterparties they have made whole. Figure out why they paid them back and not the others that they owe money to. Figure out what that means for the financial system.

Chainlink is the real deal but its value add is more quickly and discretely realized by the niche products which use it. Anons who followed the Link early partnership playbook (SNX, AAVE, AMPL etc) made several hundred X more than dr;ns limpers.
The "investment value" of Chainlink comes from understanding what profitable ventures it can enable and either building them or buying into them.

this is how retarded you are anon

>>50446976
but anyways to answer op's question
the serg is royally fucking his own creation he has supported the biggest shorters of his own token the whole past bull run and still has about half the circulating supply to dump on all his investors
the link fundamentals don't matter as sergeys stupid has left the door open for a competitor to jsut upright steal most of chainlinks work and ride in at the last mile before the finish and win because they pump their token rather than actively suppress it
every link holder lives in the deepest fear of this, for past bull run proved how dangerous this is
just look at fucking sol its a piece of shit tech that is effectively run by proof of discord but it pumps to mars because big boys are riding it up
now imagine if sam backs a new oracle that favors his exchange in 1 year and pumps it like he did sol
its game over and books shut for chainlink at that point

>Vitalik WILL bend the knee.
he already did once he conceded that L2 rollups were the path forward for ETH scaling. Chainlink owns the entire smart contract stack at this point. Vitalik has been relegated to a twitter e-celeb who will be used to influence smart contract narratives and further the globohomo agenda.
