literally WHY
why didn't you stop at a fucking bachelors?

there's literally no benefit to masters unless you're going all the way to phd
you wasted years that could have gone into internships and employment

this is why the LeaRn To CodE thing is a meme. Someone with a MS in CS knows how to code, cant get a job. MD and DO are the only good degrees and JD can be a good degree. The rest are a waste of time. I got a MS in CS and people from hack reactor and degrees in biology were getting prestigious jobs at lyft etc. I dont even get an interview. Then boomers are like iTs YouR reSumE or zoomers are like hOws YouR GitHuB prOfiLe? Like its not about that at all. Its about connections for startups and most other companies, and for fang if you somehow get an interview its can you do leetcode mediums and hards

You know you’re supposed to work part time as an intern in a big globohomo company or government agency for at least 2 years while doing uni along with some TA work experience to get hired right?

Otherwise you just end up behind the McDonalds frier with a M.Sc.

What REST frameworks do you know for Java? Are you proficient with Spring? Not trolling, first question I would ask you in an interview, before asking you to evaluate the quality of my transition.

I have 15 mins. I am going to interview you.

> Tell me how you use streams in Java 8 (and golden showers)

> What's your experience with Angular / React (and angling your fist in my anus, no homo)

> What is your RDS experience? Can you normalize a greenfield DB for me? (Or do you want to greenfield my throat, no homo)

> What's your experience with Cloud Infrastructure? Tell me about infra you set up on Azure, AWS, Gee Cee Pee? (not Icy PEE)

> Tell me about a CI/CD pipeline you built, or dou want to give me the pipe?

> Do you want to TDD my chocolate star? In other words tell me how unit and Integration tests tie into your pipeline.

Seriously, this is the mid interview.

a bsc with years of experience is a ton more valuable and skilled than an msc with zero experience
this is just irrefutable fact

you learn so much more on the job than in academia
it's not even close

You're net getting hired because you took 10 FUCKING YEARS to get an msc, if I saw your resume slide across my desk I would chuck it immediately. If I were to interview you I would be concerned for my safety.

I'm a bit autistic I guess. Why would the resume indicate he's dangerous?

Because 10 years for a degree means he's gotta have mental health issues? (if I read paot I get it but purely on the resume?)

So I dont know about 10 years, but yes, helpdesk is where you will start. It's nothing personal, it's just the place most people in IT start because having 2 years of experience really is like entry level knowledge.
Don't be cocky, if you really have the working knowledge of a masters degree then you will show that you are above helpdesk really quick.
But my guess is, you will be humbled.

if someone needed TEN FUCKING YEARS to complete what a normal person completes in 2 years, would you trust that they have the competence and discipline to do 40 hours of work in a 40 hour period, especially when they have absolutely zero internships or projects that demonstrate or prove any sort of technical competency or ability to work on a team in a technical setting?

OP here. It took me 10 years to get the Bachelors and Masters degree which normally take 5-6 years in my Uni. It took me so long because I had severe depression and social anxiety and did absolutely nothing for almost 4 years, was basically a NEET.
So will I never get a job? Never live a happy life, never get a girlfriend? Well, I am going to kill myself then, what's the point?
