Evola believed that democracy didn't erase the middle class it erased the upper class. There is no upper class in America. All politicians and billionaires have to be seen as "of the people" or they will get hate from the masses. You can see this with Elon Musk posting memes on Twitter and Trump eating McDonalds. The rich in America eat the same things that the poor eat, they watch the same things as the poor, they listen to the same music as the poor. The issue is the American upper class don't implicitly understand or realize this, they still think they are different, it hasn't sunk in how degraded their lives have become.

There are rich people (in fact they are even richer), but they are no longer culturally "upper class." They are merchants and industrialists or tribunes. They aren't aristocrats.
