Is this due to the conference coming up?

>> No.5030647

y'all bitches better be right. Satoshipay could go live at any minute & create a hype wave though.

keep in mind it went up by 7200% this year so far. If the 2018 yearly rate stays the same 1600 XLM you own now will be worth 16k.

But yeah I just bought some today.

More than this. There are allegedly several "huge" partnerships being announced this month. Teeka said bigger than the existing IBM partnership

>> No.5030689

Any news of the conference in Abu Dhabi?

Doesn't matter, alts are mostly traded against BTC for their satoshi value. Bitcoin will drag the value down if people sell or not. At least that's my understanding of it.

10x this. Normies don't realize IBM has been one of the biggest players in banking technology for longer than most of you fuckers have been alive, and they definitely aren't going anywhere soon. If there are any partnerships that are actually more important than IBM this will go nuts, but it's hard to pick a better partner than IBM for getting banks to adopt your tech.

It just seems like a psychological thing... alts have technological/societal value which is not paired to btc. I would expect that BTC's USD drop or rise has little to no effect on alts... unless the alt is somehow tied in with bitcoin technologically or something.

But it's treated like BTC is the "king" of crypto and it's USD value is representitive of the entire crypto ecosystem, pushing all technology and any alt differences or differentiators to the sidelines. Like why does ETH's USD value drop when BTC's value drops. Makes no reasonable sense.

Would just like to point out that XLMBTC is holding up really well right now! Hasn't moved much. This makes sense to me.
