I'll probably get laughed at but I had some 12 BTC in a Mycelium wallet pre August 1st 2016 for the BCH fork.

I got busy with work for a while - have some time off now. Started trying to get my stuff in order seeing the prices, including pulling the BCH and BCG from the forks.

I used basically these instructions (brainlet):

https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@djohan/how-to-claim-bitcoin-cash-from-mycelium-wallet-to-coinomi-wallet

However as far as I can see there is no BCH or BCG in my Mycelium wallet, any technical ideas what's up?

Yeh sorry

If anyone has any helpful ideas let me know, I'll even kick someone $200 if I can actually get an answer which resolves this, it's free money after all.

if you can export a private key from mycelium then do that and import the key on the electron cash wallet (https://electroncash.org/))

>> No.5029504

By default your BCH and BCG are there on the BCH and BCG chains, tied to your private key.

So, just enter your private key in any wallet software that supports BCH and/or BCG, and you should be good.

Careful not to fall for scams though. Googling around, it seems Exodus has BCH support so you could try that.

As for BCG, I wouldn't even bother. With a $300 valuation it's not even worth 2% as much as your bitcoins right now. BCG is a completely shady fork too and some people have lost their BTC using software endorsed by the official BCG twitter.

Meh. It's free mone.y

I thought I'd sell the BCH and BCG and put in on what I like as far as actual homework on uses for blockchain I can conceivably see succeeding over the next 5 years because there's existing intermediation to suck out profitably and easily - no way at least some of those specific uses won't succeed - starting to see if I can fix this.

Is anyone holding their BCH?

Yeah, I suppose it's still 5 grand we're talking about. Still, make sure you don't fuck this up.
Holding more BCH than BTC myself. There's concerns regarding the bitcoin price rise tied to tether/washtrading/orderspoofing on Bitfinex, and there's also Bitcoin being plain unusable right now, with skyhigh fees and network congestion. Blockstream is stalling development to push their rent-seeking second-layer solutions. There's also high organic demand from the normie world right now, but all the above flaws make holding BTC concerning.
Bcash is little more than a Ver/Jihan pet project, but it works as intended.

It terrifies me at the moment, BTC is the spinal column for all this speculative mania and if people start to spot that having it as a "store of value" just on name is stupid - this whole thing shits the bed very fast.

It'll be far more turbulant period and in the cryptosphere I think there'll only be a few safe havens like Monero or Pivx which still have the pedo money uses.

So I'm just trying to ignore that because I do know regardless of the technical insight you may have - the sheer scale of people's stupidity is staggering and should never, ever be underestimated.

5 years ahead however, I can see how things will settle - between now and then though I'm just not sure what's a safe port.

Wanting that and still to be swept along in this stupid money tsunami isn't possible, so...
