Question:
So Gamestop gives Computershare first, their 3x shares for split, and the rest to DTCC, which in turn distributed to its various brokers.

Broker then gives me (im europoor, not DRS) my 3x shares. Here comes the problem. If we are right, there are huge amounts of naked shorts going around, meaning that the shares that DTCC distribute will not be enough to go around for everyone.

This will either mean that some people simply will not get the dividend. Im not so sure that this will happen, but its probably best for brokers. Because the only other possible outcome is that they write that everyone has the correct amount of stocks post-split, but its only as IOUs in their books. Then brokers are responsible for shit later happening.

I dont know which one will happen, but IF the latter option happens (splivvy happens with no problems because brokers write it as IOUs, solving it by essentially cooking books), people like me are fucked. Because when people start to want out, as in selling or DRSing, they will not find enough shares.

I dont know what to do really. Should i DRS? I didnt want to previously because hypetrain is always on, and i dont want to be stuck in transfer mid-moass. Should i take chance now? Honest opinions pls.

This is Hargreaves Landsdown, but any CREST (or similar) system it is how it works. It is because of currency conversion from host currency to USD and thus CREST is a depository of real shares (it has to be) and they are not lendable because of it, also they are in a ISA which means doubly so.

Any euro who isn't using a neobroker / limited margin account (revolut) will have this same thing happen, as this is what happened with Tesla. Waiting a few days for the dividend is fine, I have 68 shares in CS (272 post split) and a bunch more in a pension with HL too.

I'm a euro, and I simply don't get any information at all about NYSE stocks. If I weren't following news about GME on my own, I wouldn't even know there was a dividend coming. I've spoken to bank employees previously, and they only ever tell you to get fucked and call the company itself if there's ever a problem with your stocks.
