Elon doesn't want to buy anymore (or more likely doesn't want to pay the price he agreed to)
However, he already signed the merger agreement, so he can't back out unless he finds an EXTREMELY good reason (a "material adverse effect"), which is going to be hard to do. He's trying to use the bot counts as the reason, but that's probably not going to work because he'd have to prove that Twitter is selling ads and showing them to bots... which doesn't make sense because bots mostly don't look at the Twitter home page (they use the API). Even so, Twitter estimates that about 5% of the ads it shows get put in front of bots, and they tell advertisers this, so it's factored into how much they're willing to pay for ad placement. Twitter makes money on ads doing this for years. Elon is basically saying that the whole thing is a fraudulent scam and most of the ads are being shown to bots and Twitter is basically ripping off advertisers... which is going to be very hard for him to argue in court. And it will go to court.... because Twitter says the bot issue isn't enough of a reason to cancel the sale, so they can sue. There are also a couple of other parts to the merger agreement that are relevant, including one where Twitter has to give Elon access to some data before the purchase... they did, but Elon says it wasn't enough. So basically, all of these issues will be brought up in front of a Delaware judge who will PROBABLY say that Elon doesn't have enough evidence to show that the bots issue isn't enough to be fraud, and also that Twitter gave him enough data access to satisfy what's in the agreement.... and then that Elon IS REQUIRED to buy Twitter, that he can't just back out of a signed agreement.

There is the $1bn breakup fee, but that only applies if force stops the sale, like the US Government or Elon's banks refusing to finance it. The USG doesn't care about this deal, and his banks already announced they'll finance it, so it doesn't apply. So, the judge will probably rule he has to buy it... Elon will probably appeal, though idk where it goes after that. Probably a Federal Appeals Court, and then the US Supreme Court... and I can easily see Elon trying to take it that far. I make a flax seed hair gel for my long wavy hair following this recipe but it turns out it's also the best coomer lube I have ever used. Seriously I have to imagine this is what a vagina feels like. What makes it less volatile? I would think that more options means a more accurate average price (eg 100 data points vs 100k data points)... VIX is still calculated based on the stdev of the options on it.

I understand the greeks, and I understand gamma to be acceleration of delta. Or rather, the convexity of it. This makes me want to look into the other second order greeks to see how risk would change in regards to time (eg how the curve of delta, gamma, and vega change over time)

Buy calls/stocks / sell puts in the weeks leading up to the Ex-div date - close by the ex-div date. Sell calls / short stocks / buy puts between the Div declaration and ex-div dates - close those positions 1-3 days after the ex-div date.
You can also dividend harvest by buying stock in the lead up, then buying puts before the ex-div date, collecting the dividend and then executing your puts.
Each strategy has a varied rate of return/risk, options can offer the best returns, but their option volume is fairly limited so if you plan on playing their dividends with more than about 10k or so you will need to combine strategies.

I am aware of it, their stock on average tends to drop around $2 post dividend so provided your contracts are valued at less than $2 (+whatever current intrinsic value they have - if any) or will be roughly ATM after a $2 drop and have a cost of <(theta x days to expiration) They are fairly safe plays.
You can always manipulate this slightly by executing calls to get stock prior to the div date, selling that stock, and using the proceeds of the sale to short, driving price action more favorably if you are playing with a larger pool of cash.
