Most people would flip burgers and stock shelves for their entire lives as long as their basic needs were met unconditionally. Housing, food, and health care. If those things are dirt cheap and affordable, so minimum wage burger flippers can work their 39.9 hours a week and then go home and feel like they have nothing to worry about, then it doesn't matter how much the job actually pays or what their labor is worth.
