How do I achieve work from home status? It’s my main goal. It's a tough hole to climb out of, bro. I would set some alarms and make an agreement with yourself that you'll have dedicated times where you buckle down and get something done. Set an alarm for an hour or two, physically remove all distractions, and don't get up until the alarm goes off.

Also, if you don't exercise, I would highly recommend it for increasing motivation. Gives you more energy during the day and makes it easier to fall asleep at night so you wake up well rested the next day.

I've been in a major productivity abbyss this year while WFH.

If in your case it's mostly a matter of focus/concentration then be glad that it's something that can be addressed one way or another with schedules, pomodoros and so on.

But, if like me, you feel that it's something related to overall depression and sadness due to all kinds of things... I've still don't have a good answer for that but I'd say to try to time slot those worries to sometime after your working hours are done.

It helps if you use the downtime as a reward for spending some time being productive. As a software dev the expectations are based on how long it would take a pajeet to get something done. So many times I will get an estimate that something will take 2 weeks to complete and I can get it done in one day's worth of work. That means I can either spend one day being productive and fuck off for the remaining two weeks or spread it out over a few days. I just feel much better slacking knowing that I can pull the work that was supposed to be done out of my ass at a moment's notice if some higher-up starts pushing for it.

Repetitive, methodological, focused work - money

Creative work - doing what interests me, what I like doing, where I develop myself

So when a customer/boss expects me to do grind work, the pay must be excellent, preferably commission based.

If I need to come up with ideas and creative solutions, they need to leave me alone and I need to get a little bored, then I'll start without really needing any direction or big motivator like money, as long as the tasks are varied and interesting to me.

Tldr: figure out what your carrot is and tell your superiors/customers exactly that.

Bros can I get some help. I am currently a land surveyor and I am debating what I should be doing with my life. I currently work for a private engineering company and get 22$ an hour plus overtime. I work in the field, however, this company can somewhat help get me licensed through work in the office. They allow for work from home, but the issue is the company is run by annoying boomers who are kind of up your ass and over controlling. I am also learning GIS and trying to learn how to code, so one day I can maybe have my own company and work from home so I could digital nomad and travel around the world
Alternatively, I can join my union and make around 70 to 100k a year plus all the benefits that come along with it. I am debating between doing this, working for my current company and trying to get my license for this field, or say fuck it and just NEET for a bit and combine the current certificate I am getting in GIS while learning python to get a meme wfh job. However I am also a brainlet adhd zoomer so keeping myself accountable and learning how to code will be a challenge for me, which is why I am in the field in the first place. What should I do anons? Anyone with similar experiences? Should I just find another field at this point like IT?
