i know how to code. it's tedious, boring, and not very fun. you need to be legitimately autistic to enjoy coding. i have a degree in applied math and a minor in chemistry so it's not like i'm a brainlet or anything.

Go into tech sales, product/project management or sales engineering though. Much more exciting and much less work

>too autistic and introverted to be a good salesman or work with people constantly
>too dumb to get to a senior or lead developer level
I feel like I'll always be at a mid level for software development

Yeah I don't even know if I want to do it at this point. I already get pajeets hounding me all the time about how to do things because they can barely do anything on their own. I know the senior and lead I work with get way more questions than me. I've already lead one project which is on its way but being a lead is always stressful. It's a comfy position at the moment but I'm just worried about career progression as I get older.

I don't want to be a mid level guy in my 40s or 50s. By that point I feel like I'll be absolutely fucked if I lose my job because of the ageism in this industry so if I'm not some kind of senior/lead or manager or move into some other field like project management or something then I have no idea what to do

Okay,
Where do I start? Give me tips, please.

From what I've seen there are a few ways:
1) 4 year degree in CS, Software Engineering, or some related field (obvious but time consuming and expensive)
2) Coding boot camps (no idea how good they are and I personally have never worked with anyone that's come from one)
3) Working in a related IT field and eventually transitioning to a developer position (one guy I worked with started in help desk, transitioned to an app support role, then became a developer - he was a really smart, hard working guy and obviously way too good for lower level work)
4) Self-learning and becoming an independent contractor (can be difficult but I've seen it done)

If anyones actually interested, I recently found a 3 year Master of Computer Science program at Northeastern University designed specifically for non-CS backgrounds.

I learned to code when I was 10. And at that age I was better than 90% of you dumb niggers will ever be. Do me a favor and stop shitting up my profession.
