I have some BTC in cold storage, but I like to keep some on Coinbase. I like to think of it as a hedge against myself, in case I ever lose my ledger or paper wallet, and somehow all my backups are destroyed. I keep some crypto in cold storage, some in hot wallets, some on exchanges.

I think Coinbase's BTC vault seems legit and I like the 48 hour withdrawal/2FA security.

Apparently their crypto is insured through some obscure policy and they are U.S. based and registered so they probably couldn't get away with exit scamming. Coinbase seems like the safest exchange to store crypto on.

What do you guys think? Is storing *some*, not all, crypto on Coinbase a smart or reasonable idea?

Yes, it's fine
