People buy things when economy good and they have extra cash, people sell things when economy bad and they need to cover expenses. Really not that complicated
Crypto (BTC in particular) is no longer a niche investment, everyone seems to own at least "some" (including institutions), so the price now reflects broader economic conditions rather than the previous niche speculators' (and whales'..) sentiment.
