My uncle works at metamask and he said that they are going to hault withdrawals on accounts that have not kyc'd. Supposedly this is in preparation for the next round of crypto regulations that are to hit before the elections in November.

They are also going to hault transfers out of exchanges to help prevent this liquidity fiasco that is currently occurring and effecting major exchanges.
