Old pure tin bars are marked as such, and pewter articles are almost always stamped on the base as pewter, "Zinn", or a percentage of tin (like "95% Tin"). Lead is much more dense, softer, more "blue" and wasn't used to make food grade tableware so it's a non-issue. I like collecting and making lead ingots too but that's pure acquisitive autism and probably not a metal to consider as a credible investment.
