Pro just the tip: Anon is correct. Also avoid options and futures. Sure they offer bigger gains but the sketchiness you used to make hawt gains is the same behavior that will BTFO your asshole (read: account = $0).

What I’ve seen first hand that works.
Swing trading long on small to mid cap stonks when market is on easy mode. Play the breakout and have tight stop, like a 10 or 20 moving average.

Chop will BTFO asshole (fake breakouts)

Bear market is tough if you are stuck in thinking market is in easy mode and get stuck in bear market rallies and you keep getting rugged. Small gains but mostly losses. In bear mkts, short the rip on bullshit stonks. Just be mindful, bear market rallies can be face rippers then gets rugged.

Keys for success
-be able to identify what the overall market is doing (easy mode, rangebound/chop, or bear). This is #1 priority.
-have a trade plan and execute. Have entry and exit rules for each market and the type of trading you need to do.Literally an if then statement. Aggro/tilt trade and your dead.
don’t use leverage when shorting during bear. Use leverage and tight stops if you want when EZ mode is on. During rangebound, can do put credit spreads or something.
-don’t watch CNBC or use plebbit or FinTwit. They are all retards who either lose money or don’t trade at all.

thinking I knew what I was doing. joining trading groups who are always trying to sell you the latest indicators or strategies or signals.

tried learning it from 2016 maybe until maybe 2020 or so. I occasionally check the charts but often they are all identical to S&P/Nasdaq/bitcoin chart.

When I was really into it I often would watch the charts all day and night. literally only sleeping for 15 to 30 minutes at a time and constantly checking.

Also the way leverage works is pretty strange and desu I still do not fully understand how it works. I am just able to ballpark how much a specific trade will cost me if it reaches my stop loss. Which stop losses do not even work a lot of the time in forex because of thr massive volatility that happens which can cause price to rocket through your stop loss and not fill the order until its way on the other side costing you multiple times more.

Also a big problem I had was getting very successful trade but not closing out the position once it went into profit and then it turning around on me and walking away at break even or even in the red.
