This thread is for talking about taking alternative avenues toward financial independence while avoiding the tyranny of the banks, wagiedom, and the Bogdanoffs.
Since we're in a bear market, there is plenty of room for this board to return to making threads that are actually decent rather than shilling dogcoins.

Examples of topics to discuss:
>prawn farming
>mushroom farming
>vending machines
>dropshipping sites
>flipping

ABSOLUTELY NO:
>crypto
>real estate
>stocks

For me it's a full time business but you can certainly do it as a side hustle: auto detailing.

Equipment overhead is very low, you can really get going with a 5hp shop vacuum, some spray bottles, brushes, cloths, and a couple of chemicals. Add in a steam machine and a cheap spot extractor and you can be ready to tackle any interior. For the outside you need a couple buckets, some soap, and towels.

If you do some planning in advance you can spend about $500 and be equipped to get any car clean. A pressure washer is handy but you can get by with a regular hose spray nozzle. You can do it in your own driveway/garage or do it onsite, using your client's power and water. There are a bajillion videos on youtube showing exactly how to do it.

In terms of getting business, if you want to keep it as a side hustle then getting a few friends and family members to let you do it for cheap is the best way to get practice and start to build up a reputation. Insist that they tell people they know about you if you're good, you'll eventually build up a reputation. You can also take out ads on craigslist etc but the clientele there might be more thrifty than you want.

Once you have the hang of things and you know how to work quickly and effectively, you should be able to do an external car wash in under an hour, and tackle a dirty interior in 3h-6h. Make some packages and price yourself at $50 an hour.

No but I did crunch the numbers on setting it up w/ alibaba products. Plugged all the costs into an excel file and built a calculator.
The margins on the categories I looked at (electronic accessories and cheap jewelry) were decent after factoring in all expected costs and fees (10-20% net margins), the big variable being inventory and turnover rates. Products that sell very well are typically very competitive as well and have tight margins, vice versa niche products have better margins but are harder to sell and will incur a relatively higher inventory cost due to lower turnover rate.

I used to be into "side hustles" but now I believe that the best use of your time is in building skills.

For example, if you learn to draw you can do commissions for people by getting known on instagram/twitter, or get Patreon money.

I know it's a meme, but you can learn to code. That's a skill that opens up the option of being a WFH wagie, and you can also do freelance work on the side.

I'm currently a drawfag that draws for fun and profit while doing a WFH web dev full time job. It's like neeting but you make money that you can then spend or gamble on shitcoins.

If you do the fullfilled by amazon stuff, or trying to flip things on ebay, you're always basically at square one. You never advance in a career or build a reputation that gives you security like you would if you were a programmer or an artist or something like that. I honestly think that the surest and easiest thing to do in the long run is to just get good at something. It gives you peace of mind and it feels good.

We could maybe make a list with some ideas itt…
Since crypto is shitting the bed, I suppose /biz/ will want to get into other sources of income.
I guess some riterias would be low skill needed to start, “cheap” to start (under $1k), flexible and somewhat scalable.
Here are a some ideas:
IRL:
>land scaping/snow removal
>growing carolina reapers to sell to local biz
>painting walls in upper middle class homes
>car detailing
>growing weed
Online:
>amazon fba
>reselling anything on ebay/craigslist
>amazon pod with books - find underserved niches and make low effort books - coloring books for kids with different themes/notebooks for vegans/etc
>learn web dev and sell sites or wfh as a free lancer
>if drawfag start doing comissions
>pod for locals - make a site that integrates with printful/redbubble and sell locally
Anything else…?

Once upon a time I worked as a designer and would buy used and new computer components repack them in a new case and install windows and sell the thing.
Designing electric installations would net me a monthly salary sometimes twice smaller than the profits from the computer side hustle.
Thing is one doesnt work without the other. The months when no one buys computers were happening and without going around office buildings and such there was no cheap used components.
The designer salary was not worth it in itself but with the side hustle it was all good.

Thats the concept of it for me, and why /biz/ is useless lately.

If you want to get into pro driving, be a bus driver. You can do it for about 4 hours a day, early morning and 3-5 PM. Schools clamor for drivers and will even train you. You will have most of the day free to do whatever you want. It's a good side hustle that can be a legit job.

Despite the faggot reddit spacing, this anon is right. Get into building skills and you can branch off from there. If you don't have any, you can start with the "learn quick" ones like mowing the lawn or cleaning gutters. These are low start up cost gigs and easy to scale based on your intake of new customers/work. I use my wagie job that pays really well ($120K+) and provides benefits to fund my side projects & interests. Right now I am learning how to write a book (I spoke about this in the previous side hustle thread) that once done; will net me a nice residual income every month, whatever the amount. My other residuals right now are real estate and stocks. But we won't get into those here.

Another side hustle I do is online consulting. It has very low startup costs (cost me about $800 for laptop, website, business cards, etc) and you can do it WFH. I pick my own hours using Calendly and market solely on word of mouth. I did marketing via social media and SEO, but found those to not be viable for my field. Only issue with this job is do not expect it to scale well or be sellable, unless the skills or knowledge you're consulting on can be learned/taught to others.
>>50080290
Don't, unless you're in a small town and you can do it by bike or moped. Gas and wear on your vehicle will ruin you, not to mention dealing with customers in what is essentially a fucking retail job. You'd be better off starting your own delivery business of some sort as the start up costs are virtually the same.

I do pretty well with my side gigs and love these threads, so ask away if you've got any questions.

You don't have to focus your side hustle on the vehicle itself, but use it as an indirect cost offsetting tool. For example:
>using to it to drive around the city giving price quotes for your side job
Free quotes are standard these days, but the fuel costs don't have to be for you
>use it for every day things like grocery shopping and errands
>using it for road trips or vacations
If you want to go the uber/delivery driver route, again as I mentioned earlier - just make your own business. A website, logo, some business cards are easy and sub $500 to start. Then just use that vehicle for as a "VIP" taxi service. Undercut Uber because you can, and go from there.

For two don't even ask because nobodies going to tell you fuck all. The best Gigs are unique and you have to find it yourself. You have to have a brain for it see above.

For three, anything worthwhile you will have to declare and pay tax. That means you probably have to be a buisness to start with and you are not. You're just a fucking scumbag and you'll always be a fuckin scumbag until you take some fucking lessons. You dumb cunt.

Open up some throwaway LLC and start any business you can think of under it. Give it a year or so to see if it has any growth, most everything is a tax write off so ultimately it’ll end up with little real cost if nothing happens and you can try another venture until one works. I’m not sure if there’s a cap as to how long you can do this and fail, but whether it’s lawncare/construction labor contracting or whatever you can make something happen.

I don't really like interacting with people, so being all proactive and selling them shit they don't want is out for me.
So instead my side hustles involve reducing costs for myself.
Given I would have to pay ~50% tax on the last dollar I earn, saving $1 effectively means I earned $2.
So far the best of these side hustles has been raising meat rabbits.
I have 5 cages/bunny tractors so I can have 2 does and one male and 1 for young girls and 1 for young boys.
I move mine around my garden so they mostly eat grass which is basically free so the only cost was building cages and getting the bunnies and some feed for the winter.
I spend ~10 minutes twice a day to feed them/move them and other than that, they keep to themselves.
I get 3 litters a year per doe, averaging 6 bunnies per litter, each providing meat for 7 meals for 2. That means most of my meat consumption is covered by this setup.
It is a very easy animal to keep and they are fun to watch. 100% would recommend.
Spent a total of $600 on cages, 60 on the bunnies and 50/year on feed.
Went from 300/month on food to 150. So that is an annual savings of 1800.
You probably need new cages every 3-5 years, so assuming 3 years, you spend 250 a year to keep them happy, even rounding up to 300, it is a good ROI.
And if you want to, you could sell the fur or extra meat, the production is scalable if you have the space.
