Oil is at the point in the cycle where it starts to feel like there's no more upside. I'm not saying there won't be more upside, but the general consensus is that it's unlikely. People think the cycle has peaked.
The question then becomes: How long will these oil prices hold up before they crash?

With late cycle fear/pessimism, multiples tend to compress to insane lows. Realistically the only way oil stocks move higher at this point is from sustained, massive buybacks of their own stock.
Look for the companies that have already implemented these buybacks. Dividends are good too.

Personally I see oil stocks moving another 4-5x higher over the next 3 years, but it's gonna be a slog to get to that point. There may be a better entry than today's prices if the whole market continues to slide.

I just really holistically like the markets.
