The governments here will (probably) not totally collapse, stockpile necessary products of complex supply chains (basically computers and non-drm farming machinery, including parts). Iodine tablets won't hurt.

Nuclear bombs burns through the payload quickly, the resulting fallout is bad in close vicinity of the explosion, but beyond that it's basically nothing. Something like a nuclear reactor spewing shit is catastrophic and would fuck a homestead up, nuclear bomb will not unless it's blown up above the home.
