To me, that is a "penis inspection day" sort of thing. I don't know anyone who has.
Then again, I don't personally know anyone who madeit

>While lowering the gun, an agent asked me, "Are your bitcoins on the Trezor coinjoined?
>I quieting squeaked out "Yes."

I have. I'm a 2013 bitcoin guy. they wait until penalties max out so about 8-9 years, before coming after you. its a long process and they look at everything, every single exchange trade, every bank record, eevery purchase. multiple interviews. thousands in sttorney fees. its bad.

>> No.50040247

>>50040219
they dont take your word for it either. they had me log in to exchanges and look at the transactions directly. if you don't have wallets lining up with everything you're in deep shit. The guy also yelled at me. Keep track of everything, no matter how small.

The worst they can do is assume zero cost basis. And buying with fiat is basically zero cost basis.

I got mail from the state IRS saying my tax return was denied and then basically starting sending me mail about how to deal with identity theft.

I’m just gonna file next year, say I didn’t file the year prior, and pay whatever penalty there is. Since apparently they’re giving me an easy way out and just pretending that I couldn’t have possibly submitted an inaccurate tax return.

I know a guy who made 600k from shib first big pump around 3-4 years ago. He sold at the top after watching the charts all night/morning long (called in sick for work). Late 20s dude with a wife and couple kids living in a beat up house in the boonies. The morning the guy sold, he immediately transferred it all to his bank account. I shit you not, dude took out 100k cash, bought a new trd toyota tacoma extra cab in cash, drove it straight to a local 4x4 shop and bought a 6" suspension lift and off-road tires. Paid cash for it and waited at the shop +6 hours for the shop to install the lift and tires and drove home. The next day he goes back to the toyota dealership with his wife and buys her a brand new trd 4runner. Cash of course. But she didn't want to lift it. Dude then bought the old house and land that he was renting, demo'd the house and started building a new home himself. Not a package type pre order home, but he decided to custom build his own small, basic square type 2 bedroom home by himself to save money. He did finish it, but it was shotty as hell. Its an unpermitted home so the city & county could condem it since ther was no building permits or inspections. He ended up getting deep into exotic fish collection and has tanks everywhere in the house. I still see him around town and is one of those guys that drives a newer style tacoma, but its dented up and dirty with miss matching wheels. He's now working at a resturant mall as a cashier and his wife left him (and took her 4runner with her). Dude blew all his money on his huge fish collection and some other new altcoin that rugged a month later. I asked him if the government ever came after him about that 600k and he laughed. He hasn't filed taxes for over a decade and isnt worried about it. Its been around 4 years so far, and he hasnt been audited or anything. Im sure all the money going in and out of his account (cash) must've thrown up some red flags, but nothing so far

I have multiple brokerage accounts, one of them which I can’t even log onto because I changed my phone # and can’t get past the two-step, and then crypto shit where all I can get is some .csv file that didn’t work on TurboTax.

At some point I was just like fuck this and submitted the info I *did* have and now am gonna be stuck with penalties out the ass.

at first, I didn't pay because it all went to a failed business, I thought it was a write off. I planned to handle it when btc took off again in 2017, and then again in2021; just sunk deeper and deeper. i botched 2017 and the audit was last year so I couldn't take advantage of the ladt run.
