how much did an average fast food meal cost when you graduated high school?

for me, i could get a meal deal at taco bell for less than $5. It had a cheesy gordita crunch, 5-layer burrito, cinamon twists, and a medium baja blast.

Never ate fast food much but I could get a big ass box of teriyaki chicken from the Japanese place across from my highschool for 5.85. That same teriyaki chicken box is now over 15 bucks 16 years later.

There's a Chinese takeout spot I get a lunch special from: an entrée with a side of fried rice and an egg roll was originally $6.00 in 2014. Then it went up to $6.50 a couple years later. Then $7.50 during corona. Now that same lunch special is $7.97 - and they started serving skinnier egg rolls with less filling.

Similarly, there was a Mexican restaurant that had pretty consistent prices until corona + inflation. A taco that was $2.50 now costs $4 each, which is fucking insane. Stopped going there.

I'm scared too since they've been actively working on shoplifting in my towns recently. Lots of people splashed in the paper and increased security gaurds and added cctv. Perma wagie at check outs and those reflective mirror things. Nkt sure how I'd even steal stuff like milk or bread since its bulky.
