i believe this one is actually coming out of taxes. it does contribute to money velocity, but hey, if we're really trending toward hyperinflation better to spend dollars while they're still worth anything at all, right? california is just giving their people a headstart at the gate

they aren't printing, but this is potentially the beginning of the cascade that will cause hyperinflation. did you notice how inflation really started to kick off when lockdowns were lifted? during the pandemic, the amount of cash in circulation increased A LOT. but money velocity was cratered because everyone was just sitting around not spending except to gamble on markets. now they are spending again, and goods are in a supply crunch because of the energy crisis, so prices are blasting up. the fed has been trying to reel this all in by pulling dollar liquidity from markets, but it hasn't been enough to crush demand, and really the fed is trying to do the impossible, because pulling liquidity and hiking rates will just trigger an economic depression. whether california's government consciously understands this or not, the dollar is rapidly reaching the end of the movie and the crowd is about to realize there is only one door out of the cinema, and the first people to get the fuck out will do much better than the slowpokes in the back. distributing cash to their citizens gives them a headstart to prepare for hyperinflation while the rest of the country is still stuck in denial

$1050 is like pissing in the wind. It won't do anything and is just for show. Also, who the fuck gets so happy to get THEIR OWN MONEY back anyways. I mean imagine the taxpayer living under such a huge debt as the government. The government would take everything they had from them and their family but its ok if the government does it. Fuck them. Im ready for hyperinflation, a recession, a civil war, ww3, wtf the ever. I just hope after the dust settles most of the smooth brains have been culled, every politician has been hung and regular fucking people like Joe the God damn plumber take over and run the country.

California is an inflationary state. Probably the only state where you get an entry salary of $200k+ a year with a 2 year degree in app development etc from some random community college. Want to own cardboard house without a lawn in a decent neighborhood? That will be $1.8M plus tip. I hope the crash puts an end to this fuckery and all those hipster Bay Area start ups go down in flames.

Unironically yes. Inflationary impact can come from both increasing the money supply and increasing the velocity of money. Both are "bad" when it comes to inflation.
Kind of like how the price action of stocks/crypto is largely impacted by volume and float, arguably even moreso than how many shares/tokens outstanding actually exist.

The first £150 was a direct gib but its paid back via energy bills. The most recent one is like £450 paid directly to energy companies to credit your account. The government is actually giving public money directly to them.
If you are on welfare you get £650 given to you to spunk on whatever bullshit you want, plus £150 if you disabled.
Its fucking backwards. Welfare recipient's should get it put into their engery bills so they cant waste it on fags and beer.
I don't even want this loan to begin with since I don't struggle to pay my bills. But if they are going to force me to accept it, let me have it in cash so I can put it somewhere I need it.
